I’ve been lucky to witness a lot of technological advancements in the tattoo industry throughout my fifteen year career. It’s exciting to see machines continuing to evolve and change, and we all become a little obsessed with trying new products to see if they can make our job any easier.
After spending my first 7 years working with needle bars and coil machines, I gave cartridges a crack and just like everyone else, I quickly ditched the noisy coils and opted for the wireless pen machines that give me the same effect without the headache of multiple machine set-ups and wires.
After making the decision to enter the cartridge market, I set out on a mission to make sure that what Metal Fingers was offering would stand out amongst the other brands. This started an intensive development period for the company where we painstakingly picked apart our needles and made changes where necessary for two long years before our launch. In my eyes, this has been critical to making sure the cartridges we offer are the highest quality, best performing needles that artists will love. During the development period, Metal Fingers cartridges were used by the artists at Uncle Winston’s Tattoo Studio and their feedback was incorporated into the changes made. Metal Fingers have truly been tried and tested until we’ve ended up with the perfect product.
Product development is my main mission which is why we are already engaged with Australian engineers to develop our next style of Metal Fingers cartridges that are due to launch in 2024. Tattoo artists are the heart of the business and your comfort and ease are at the forefront of every decision we make. This starts with careful consideration of the style, shape and mechanical functions of our cartridges, and goes right through to the seamless purchase experience. At Metal Fingers we are all about being practical as well as creative, which is why our website is simple to navigate but fun to look at- we are artists after all, we like to look at pretty shit.
