Metal Fingers started because I was sick of accepting that cartridges were just “good enough”.
So instead of whinging about it, I decided to make my own.
We design and engineer our cartridges in Australia, then test the shit out of them in real tattooing before you ever get your hands on them.
I once got so annoyed with ripping paper towel all day that I built a fucking machine to do it for me. That pretty much sums up how my brain works.
If something can be better, I want to know why. Then I want to pull it apart, test it, change it and keep fucking with it until it is. That same attitude goes into Metal Fingers.
I also think too much of our industry has become copy and paste. Same ideas. Same shit with a different logo slapped on it. That’s not me, and it’s not what I want Metal Fingers to become.
Tattooing is one of the most creative and colourful industries in the world. The brands representing it should have some fucking personality too.
I’ve been tattooing for around 20 years and this industry has given me a career, friendships and a life I’m incredibly grateful for. I’ve got respect for anyone who genuinely loves the craft and wants to get better, whether you’ve been tattooing for six months or thirty years.
Metal Fingers is my chance to put something back into the industry that gave me so much.
I’m still tattooing. I’m still testing our cartridges. And I’m still finding shit I want to make better.
We’re not here to copy everyone else.
